Planning and managing water resources:
The water resource planning process is designed to plan water allocation and manage it sustainably. Water resource management aims to optimize available natural water flows, including surface and ground water, to meet competing needs. In addition to uncertainty, climate change adds complexity to water resource management. Pakistani experts believe that extreme events (floods and droughts) will become more severe in the future due to climate change. Dry regions will become more vulnerable to climate change in terms of water availability.
Dam and barrages:
Site selection, planning planning, topographical surveys, geological mapping, geotechnical and geophysical surveys, seismic studies, stability analyses, subsidence analyses, seepage studies, dam/gravity and flood control structure design. The study also includes the hydraulic and structural design of the canal. Carrying out social, economic and environmental surveys and preparing resettlement action plans, where appropriate, also form part of the plot.
Irrigation Engineering:
This includes planning, designing and implementing all kinds of irrigation and drainage projects. It includes, among others, conducting survey, feasibility studies, detailed design, preparation of feasibility report, PC-Is, design documents, economic analysis and project completion reports.
Drainage, salinity control and land reclamation:
Hydrogeological surveys for estimation of drainable overflows, soil surveys and salinity/hardness surveys, degraded soil remediation programmers, infiltration, hydraulic conductivity, aquifer tests for assessment of soil drainage parameters, horizontal design of underground drainage system and intercepted drainage, environmental impact assessment survey, preparation of resettlement plan Construction supervision, contract management, completion report preparation.
Water supply and sanitation
Rehman Habib Consultants also provides services in the areas of water supply and sanitation, water resource economics, water quality monitoring and management, and hydropower development. The firm has expertise in the development of hydropower projects, including the design and construction of powerhouses, dams, and other water resources infrastructure.
